EORI code – Economic Operators’ Registration and Identification code. It is a unique identifier assigned to economic operators (businesses or individuals) involved in customs activities within the European Union.

All economic operators participating in the movement of goods between European Union (EU) member states and non-EU countries must register for an EORI code. This includes both businesses and individuals who engage in trade beyond the EU borders or carry out customs procedures related to the import and export of goods.

Therefore, the following entities should register in the EORI system:

• Companies importing goods into the EU territory from countries outside the EU;
• Companies exporting goods from EU territory to countries outside the EU;
• Companies engaged in the transit of goods through EU territory (i.e., goods passing through EU territory from one non-EU country to another);
• Individuals conducting commercial activities and participating in the movement of goods between EU and non-EU territories, such as traders or manufacturers who export or import goods.

It’s important to note that an EORI code issued in one EU member state is valid in other member states, so there’s no need to obtain the code repeatedly in different countries.
